December 2025: Log Cabin Challenge

This year’s Challenge, “Log Cabin,” brought out a lot of wonderful efforts! People got really creative and rose to the “challenge” to make this a fun and rewarding undertaking.

Bev A – Log Cabin placemats woven in Monks Belt and Log Cabin, turned to change a 4-shuttle weave into a 2-shuttle weave. Woven on 4 shafts with 8/2 cotton warp and 4/2 cotton weft used single in tabby sections and doubled as pattern weft.

Barbara N – Small shoulder bag woven in 4-shaft Log Cabin with 5/2 cotton, and an inkle-woven band. The woven fabric used in the bag came from a class sample woven in her first 4-shaft weaving class. The bag is trimmed with batiked fabric in coordinating colors.
