IPWG member Julie Guynn shared what she has learned in her exploration of tessellation in weaving. She talked about how a tessellation is an arrangement of shapes, especially polygons, closely fitted together in a repeated pattern without gaps or overlapping – a mosaic pattern using geometric shapes, and explained how weaving software can be very helpful in developing tessellating motifs and structures. Julie also shared several woven samples with us.
Following Julie’s presentation, the guild adjourned to its biennial stash sale, which was both fun and successful.
