April 2025: David Wilson, “Backstrap Weaving Basics”

Backstrap weaving is one of the oldest forms of weaving. IPWG member David Wilson presented a general overview of the history of backstrap weaving and how it is currently used around the world. He provided an overview of the general mechanics and characteristics of backstrap weaving, together with a survey of some of the structures and techniques used today.
